Accountancy Graduate Program Application Process

 1.        To be considered for admission to the Master of Accountancy Program, applicants must submit the following to the Graduate Office, Truman State University, Kirksville, MO 63501:

  • an application as a degree-seeking graduate student

  • an accountancy graduate program application

  • official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate credit.  Only an original transcript, signed by the registrar and stamped with the seal of the college or university, will be accepted.  Truman Bachelor’s degree recipients do not need to request a transcript from Truman or any universities transferring credit to Truman.

  • official GMAT score (see #2 below)

  • three letters of recommendation

2.        Applicants must take the GMAT to be admitted into the master's program in accounting. 

·            If you live near Kirksville you can take the GMAT on Truman’s campus. To make an appointment, call the Computer Based Testing Center at (660) 785- 4438.

·            If you are not in the Kirksville area, you can arrange to take the GMAT via phone at 1-800-GMAT-NOW (1-800-462-8669).

·            The GMAT "Information Bulletin," which includes sample questions and a Voucher Request Form (see next item below), is available upon request from the Coordinator of Graduate Studies in Accounting, Truman’s Assessment and Testing Office, or by mail from:

·            If you don’t have a credit card or if you are taking the exam for a Truman Senior Test, use the GMAT Voucher Request Form in the GMAT Information Bulletin (see above).

·            To have your scores reported to Truman, you must indicate Truman as a score recipient when you take the exam.  It will take 3-4 weeks for your scores to arrive, so please schedule your exam date well before any published deadlines.

 3.        Completed applications will be forwarded by the Graduate Office to the Division of Business and Accountancy for action.

 4.        The Graduate Accounting Admissions Committee will evaluate the application and recommend acceptance or rejection.  After final approval, the notice of acceptance or rejection will be sent by the Dean of Graduate Studies.

 5.        Graduate Teaching/Research Assistantship (GTRA) applications (which include all of the required materials listed in #1) are due February 15th each year, and will be awarded after April 15th for the following academic year.  Accounting GTRAs are NOT renewable.

 6.        Application submission guidelines for “non-GTRA” applications are:
